Mt Pleasants Wins Regional Crown, Again!

Mt Pleasant Oilers won the second Regional Championship in as many years on their home field Saturday.  East Lansing came calling, but the Oilers were able to shut the door in the fourth quarter.

The strong defensive play kept Mt Pleasant close for the first three quarters of the game.  Then Oilers put the game away late in the fourth scoring twice on the ground.

This is the third game this year I was able to shoot Mt Pleasant.  It was the second time I’ve watch sophomore Michael Tweh take the game over with his strong running.  He doesn’t look special until the opposing defensive tries to tackle him.  He refuses to go down.  It will be fun watching him for another two years! You can view all my pictures from the game here.

Mt Pleasant now will face an opponent that not only has won five state titles in a row, but defeated them in the semi finals last year.  On the other side, you could say they get a chance to get revenge and stop a streak!  They will face East Grand Rapids next Saturday at Ferris State University.  Go Blue!

On a totally different note, I was treated to a wonderful concert today.  The Shepherd Area Friends of the Library held a fundraiser concert at Shepherd High School’s new Auditorium.  The Shepherd;  Michigan Area Concert Band, High School Band and High School Choir all preformed.  Judging from the size of the crowd, a good sum of money was raised!  Congratulations Shepherd on supporting your Library!

Being a former science teacher, I found this link interesting (more like ‘eye candy’ for an old science teacher!).  It’s a time lapse video of the earth from the International Space Station.  It shows several views of the northern lights from space.  Totally Awesome 😉  Here it is, enjoy!
